[LIBRARYDIR] Library in global navigation menu of Canvas

Looks like Howard at Whatcom figured out how to do it. Here's his email below to me earlier. He said I could share it.


WCC Library is part of the global navigation.



It is my understanding that online courses are required to offer the same or similar resources and services as on-ground courses.   How are the fully online (and hybrid) courses offering library services…or connecting to library services?



After I asked the above question the VP-I told eLearning to add the Library to Canvas global navigation.

I hope so - that would be very cool if it can be changed. My eLearning Director said she thinks someone would have to know JavaScript to be able to do it. Let me know!

Thanks, Jeanne and Melinda. I think making changes to the global nav menu is possible. While using the course nav menu is helpful, too, I'd like the Library to be ever-present in the global nav.

Hi Candice,



Ours is set up the same as Sally and Jeanne’s. LLC Library is located on the dashboard in Canvas. I don’t think you can change the main global navigation.
