[LIBRARYDIR] [EXTERNAL] Dewey Easy?

Hello Cheyenne,

We have used LC Easy for many years for training with student employees (and for some other staffers as well).  The program is organized around the premise that there is a wizard who will train the person using the program as an apprentice. It is not as interactive as you might think and definitely has some quirks.  There isn't any sound-the apprentice has to read what the wizard says.  Also, it is dated with illustrations of some ancient media formats.  It is pretty good on the tutorials but it is a lot of reading. The tests at the end of each section are useful.  We supplement the program with card sets (3) to put in order throughout the "basic" training period as well as shelving of some fake books.  We are actually on a hunt to find something else but haven't found a replacement yet.  Suggestions, anyone?

Do any of you, or your staff that is in charge of hiring/training work study students, use the training program called Dewey Easy? It apparently helps test for understanding of filing, shelf reading and organizing of library resources.
Any thoughts in general on the program? Pros or cons?
