Seven of us are available on Friday, so I'll go ahead and run the inaugural eLearning Interest group zoom meeting:

Here's the agenda to date:


  1.  Stacy Prest/Walla Walla wants to know --
*eLearning director job descriptions
*eLearning Departments structure, including job titles and number of staff in the department, etc.

  2.  Vivienne McClendon/Bellevue suggests, as per Mark Jenkins’ observation --
*eLearning at the SBCTC needs a good definition of its mission and function and/or to reconsider what it is, given the new expansion of its role(s) and changing technologies and use
*explore what services our current eLearning offices/personnel provide and areas where we are expanding or have been asked
*consider how to capture this information to expand

  3.  Logistics

*regularity of meetings and communication

*next meeting?

*should there be a separate listserv for the group rather than the entire LLC

Hi there,

For those who weren't able to attend the LLC last week, some of us formed an eLearning interest group comprising deans and directors who have responsibility to eLearning.  I was invited to serve as lead.  Below is an invitation to our inaugural meeting via Zoom.  Be warned this is my first time hosting an online meeting, but we should be OK.


As far as an agenda, I've included in the meeting description the threads we started at our lunch discussion at LLC.  For this meeting I think we are continuing to brainstorm around places where eLearning and Libraries dovetail and how to most effectively frame ourselves (e.g., as "instructional support").  We were also encouraged by Mark Jenkins of the SBCTC to let him know what we want.


So, what do we want?


If you have ideas for a firmer agenda, please do let me know.  At this point, it is my understanding that we need to decide what we want to do as a subgroup.
