Here's the followup to today's eLearning interest group meeting in a nutshell:


7/28/17 Zoom meeting:

Discussed structure and personnel of elearning departments vis a vis libraries.

  *   Outcome - Aryana Bates will request a subpage “eLearning Interest Group” be added to the LLC wiki space.  Once this is available people may post Director/Dean job descriptions and organization charts.  Other eL interest group materials will also be posted here.

Discussed defining mission and function of eLearning and working with Mark Jenkins at SBCTC on framing eLearning as instruction and addressing structural challenges such as variated/inconsistent fee structures and integration between system technologies such as Canvas and PeopleSoft.

  *   Outcome - Vivienne McClendon will be meeting with Mark Jenkins in the next couple of weeks to initiate this conversation.  eLearning Interest Group Zoom meeting to follow, potentially with Mark J. as a participant. Aryana will convene the group meeting once date is established.

Discussed group’s meeting and communication logistics.

  *   Outcome - group will set aside an hour at each LLC meeting outside the agenda to meet.  Between LLC meetings the group will hold one Zoom meeting with possible additional Zoom meetings, as needed.  We will communicate via email outside the LLC listserv and will report out on activities at LLC meetings.  Anyone interested in being part of this sub list, please contact Aryana to be added.
