I’ve also used Zoom. It’s very intuitive, seems to work well, and the host can record meetings.

For those of you not familiar with Zoom it would be an easy replacement for Blackboard Collaborate as well as ITV, which is why I forwarded the message to the list.

I’ve experienced it several times, but don’t know a lot of details, or if it can record, but I’m sure we’ll hear more about it soon.

Zoom is coming to all colleges through a K-20 network mass purchase. We are still getting details, but check with your IT director as IT will be the conduit. Each campus will get one "meeting room" license that can be used with existing ITC equipment, everything else will function as regular web conferencing. There are a few of us that have been using Zoom for a while and have been very happy with it.

Web conferencing seem like an obvious solution at first glance, but I thought I'd ask around to see if there are any hidden pitfalls we should know about before heading down that path.

If you are using web conferencing as a full replacement for ITV, what platform are you using? What classroom equipment have you installed (microphones, cameras, etc)? Does it play nicely with your other classroom technologies?  How have faculty responded to using the system? Would you recommend your solution to others, or do you now wish you had done something differently?
