Hi Kennedy,

You might already be aware of ABLE (and SABLE) – online alternative basic library education for library staff. The program is funded through IMLS and accessible free through the Washington State Library Training<https://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/training/> website. The Public Services Sequence<http://learn.webjunction.org/course/index.php?categoryid=34> provides 6 contact hours including reference interview, evaluating reference sources and basic reference sources. A fourth section (2 contact hours) on ethics and public service is also included. Classes are free, no registration required.

WebJunction<http://learn.webjunction.org/enrol/index.php?id=24>, also accessible through WSL website, provides additional self-paced courses, including Basic Web-based Reference<http://learn.webjunction.org/enrol/index.php?id=24>. Access to WebJunction’s library-specific courses and webinar archives is available for free to all library workers and volunteers in Washington. WSL is a long time supporting member of WebJunction. Users must create an account in order to access courses.
