Subject: [LIBRARYDIR] I'm retiring!

Hello,

I'm retiring on September 30, and I wanted to send out one more email blast to you, my friends and colleagues for these past 18 (!) years. I am very proud to have worked with you to build our system of elearning tools and open content. Many of you will not remember the first term we offered WAOL courses (Fall 1998). We were overwhelmed with 400 enrollments in eight courses. Now every learner in our system has access to elearning technology, and our colleges are leaders in the use of open resources.

For the last year, I've been working on the competency-based business degree pilot. We have 18 openly licensed courses, ten faculty, a completion coach and, as of July 1, we have students working on their CBE degrees. You can follow the action at http://cbewa.org or on the CBE listserv.

This has been the best and most gratifying work in my checkered career. I will miss you all and the work, and I'm ready for the next stage. It feels supremely strange to be retiring, but come October, you can find me at conniebroughton at gmail.com<mailto:conniebroughton at gmail.com>

Let me know how it goes.

Connie
