[LIBRARYDIR] A little fact finding mission - could use some help

Bellevue College has 5 full time librarians (@ 35hr/wk): 1 acts as program chair, does reference and instruction; 1 does reference and instruction + instruction coordination; 1 FT Librarian who is on buy-out to our Faculty Commons; 1 systems librarian who also does some light reference and instruction fill in; 1 collection dev librarian with light reference and instruction.
Plus we have a full time temp BA librarian for the third year. I am pushing to make that a full time position for the 16-17 AY forward.

Part-time:
We do some double staffing hours due to beginning of the semester demand and then a couple of hours a day where there is heavy traffic.
The funds we use for this come from our 1 FT librarian buy-out.
We use 44 part-time hours per week to staff the desk plus approximately 14 hours per week for double coverage/special projects=58 hours per week.
Full time for librarians is 35 hours so we have approximately 1.6 FTE librarians from our part-time hours.

Our current state funded enrollment for 100 lvl courses and above is 7247.
State funded + Running Start = 9954.
With all other programs included we have 11557.

Yakima Valley has an FTE of about 3800 (we’ve dropped since the Alma/Primo worksheets).  We have 2 full-time faculty librarians (35 hours/week each) and 1 adjunct who works 12 hours a week.  I fill in for morning breaks and if a librarian is teaching a class or is ill.

Now we are open M-Th 7:30-7:30 and F 7:30-4:30.  With the move of the open computer lab to the library this quarter, we are planning to extend our hours another 12 hours a week.  I had hoped to get back the full-time faculty librarian position we lost in 2008, but I’ve been told to look for another adjunct to fill those additional 12 hours.

Good morning all,
I am putting in a proposal to our new VPI as to why the college should fund the part-time librarian they told us to hire for our two new BAS programs (they proposed it but never attached any funds to pay for this position and haven’t increase my budget to cover the costs) and I would like to add in a piece about how we have been treading water with just 2 full-time faculty librarians (with me also doing double duty as the Library Program Coordinator) for an FTE of 3100 students.
If you don’t mind, could you please shoot me off an email telling me how many full or part-time/adjunct librarians you currently have at your institutions? I can see all your FTEs from the spreadsheets on the Alma/Primo project. So just looking to help my case why it wouldn’t kill our college to actually fund a part-time librarian, bringing us up to 2.5 librarians.
