The Seattle Center Foundation has a large supply of copies of The Future Remembered to donate to libraries within Washington State. The Future Remembered is a 300 page hard bound commemorative book that explores the legacy of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. It was written by HistoryLink staff historians Paula Becker and Alan J. Stein for the 50th anniversary of the Fair.

See the review at http://www.seattlepi.com/lifestyle/blogcritics/article/Book-Review-The-Future-Remembered-The-1962-2453132.php or the cover art at http://www.amazon.com/The-Future-Remembered-Seattle-Worlds/dp/061546940X.

The book is available at no charge to libraries. The Washington State Library will pay for drop shipping through the majority of September 2015. You may also coordinate with Cathy Sander, Seattle Center Foundation, for a physical hand-off of the books which are stored at the Seattle Center in the Armory, formerly known as the Center House. Driving onto "campus" can be arranged through Ms. Sander for larger orders and easy loading.

If you are interested in receiving a copy or copies of the book, please reply to this e-mail.

Let me know:

1. How many copies are desired?

2. The person who should receive the order and their contact information.

3. The library name and location for drop shipping - or - if you desire to pick up the books, the library name and contact information.

We will continue to pay for drop-shipping until funds for this activity are expended or September 22nd, whichever comes sooner.

This offer is available to public libraries, tribal libraries, academic libraries, and K12 school libraries within Washington State on a first come - first served basis.

I look forward to hearing from you.
