Thanks, Lauri! I’ll add that info into the summary. If I get another couple responses, I’ll resend.

Jennifer, After seeing the nice summary that you shared with us, I realized I never replied to your initial query. We started providing chargers to students at Edmonds CC this quarter. I am attaching a spreadsheet showing what we ordered and a copy of the sign that we have publicizing these.

A series of phone and tablet chargers have been set up in the Voyager circulation module and have been placed on reserve. All of the chargers have a two hour circulation period. The chargers are in clear bags with handles. There is only one barcode on the front of the bag.

There are a variety of chargers to choose from so staff should familiarize themselves with the various chargers.
In the beginning it may be difficult to determine which charger a person needs. The bags are labeled with information about which devices they can be used with. Staff might need to show the variety of chargers to students if they are unsure which one they need. If they read the information on the bag they should be able to easily determine which charger will work for their device.

Do any of you have phone charging stations in your libraries, or perhaps on your campuses? I’m talking about a station like at the mall or airport, perhaps with little lockers or maybe just shelves. If you do, could you supply me with the name of someone I could chat with about it? Our tech fee has supplied funding to install charging stations, and I’d prefer not to re-invent the wheel.
Thanks,
Jennifer
