[LIBRARYDIR] LIBRARYDIR Digest, Vol 1244, Issue 1

Sorry I wasn't more clear- we bought the charging station (stand up
model). It has 8 plugs (2 of 4 different types of plug). Students can
plug in and leave their device on the built-in shelf while it charges.
We located it near our computer pods so it's visible to all. We don't
have to check anything out or keep track of multiple cords, etc.
Stacy

Do any of you have phone charging stations in your libraries, or perhaps
on your campuses? I'm talking about a station like at the mall or
airport, perhaps with little lockers or maybe just shelves. If you do,
could you supply me with the name of someone I could chat with about it?
Our tech fee has supplied funding to install charging stations, and I'd
prefer not to re-invent the wheel.
Thanks,
Jennifer

We've talked about buying a variety of charging cords and checking them
out. Let me know what you decide to do.

We are buying 6 multi-tip units to be checked out by our media services
for in house use only.
This will be our first of this service.

I haven't decided on the unit yet but here's one that was suggested:

We have a "cyber nook" in our information commons and we would like to
put one in the library. We don't provide the charging cords, however,
just outlets.
