[LIBRARYDIR] Register for the Microsoft IT Academy Virtual Training Sessions

Please excuse duplicates if they show up - three times is a charm.

 

Below are the dates, times and the registration link for the "Getting
Started with the Microsoft IT Academy" virtual training sessions. All
sessions will be conducted using Microsoft Live Meeting. A link to test
Live Meeting is at the end of this message. Please allow at least an
hour for these sessions.

 

When you go to the registration page, the session times for all of the
audiences are listed. If you cannot make either of the dates for your
group and would like to select another date or time, please do so.  

 

Messages will be sent to library directors in public libraries/two-year
college libraries/tribal libraries, IT Academy task force members, and
those registered as local program administrators. Please forward this
message to IT staff who will assist in implementing the IT Academy. I do
not have a comprehensive list for this last group.

public, this session is for them. The expectation is that either these
individuals, the local IT Academy program administrator, or some else
that is designated will inform other staff within a branch or library of
this information.

Test Live Meeting  

These are 15 minute sessions to test your connection using the Live
Meeting software before the online meeting occurs.  Registration is
required.

 

Tests may be conducted on the following dates and times: 

  

Tuesday  9/3/2013 4:00 PM - 4:15 PM 

 

Wednesday:  9/4/2013 9:00 AM - 9:15 AM  

 

Thursday  9/5/2013 2:00 PM - 2:15 PM

Differences Between the Windows-Based Client and Office Live Meeting Web

The following features, available in the Microsoft Windows-based client,
are not available in Office Live Meeting Web Access:

*         Computer audio

*         Webcam and Microsoft RoundTable video

*         Viewing audio status for attendees

*         Docking menu panes

*         Keyboard navigation and shortcuts

*         Saving Shared Notes by using the Save icon

*         High fidelity PowerPoint rendering and slide animation

*         Personal recording
