Hi Jeff,

Could you confirm that my registration for Clover Park Technical College went through okay?

I'm just being a bit paranoid that something didn't quite work during the registration process.

Thanks.

Subject: [LIBRARYDIR] Current Numbers for IT Academy Registration

Looks like 244 library outlets (central libraries/branches) have signed up to be registered for the Microsoft IT Academy.

We are a bit closer than halfway to participation by all eligible libraries. Registration will remain open as we move forward through the planning phase, and into the training phase and then the roll-out/deployment phase.

If you have questions, hopefully on Friday we will be more knowledgeable and will be better equipped to provide more accurate responses. Continue to send us your questions. If we cannot answer them, we will forward them to Microsoft IT Academy staff for their response.

As we receive new questions and provide response we will continue to post those to our FAQ at http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/projects/ita/faqs.aspx. The main IT Academy page is located at http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/projects/ita/.

This project is nestled into our Digital Literacy pages as it seems an extension to the variety of resources that have already been posted. Just follow the main page for the State Library<http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/> to Services to Libraries<http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/> to Statewide Projects and Initiatives<http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/projects/> to Digital Literacy in Washington State<http://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/projects/digitalliteracy.aspx>. Look in the right hand callout or scroll down to Major Initiatives to get to our IT Academy web pages. Or simply follow the direct links in the previous paragraph.

If you would like to discuss the participation of your library over the phone, using e-mail, or in person if it fits with our ability to travel, let us know.

Five WSL staff head to meet with Microsoft IT Academy staff later this afternoon. We will spend a full day tomorrow planning the next steps forward. Hopefully we have the bases covered since our expertise that is on-hand for this meeting will cover management and policy making, technology, training, and consulting. Between us we have good knowledge of most of the CTC, public, and tribal libraries throughout the state.

More information will be sent next week and then as it becomes available.
Jeff
