Subject: [Clams-l] WSL presentation on PILR
Hi Friends:
On Tuesday March 5 from 9-10 a.m. I'm doing an online presentation for
the Washington State Library on the PILR project and its findings. I'd
be happy to see familiar names in attendance if you have time to join
in. If you were on a PILR team, it would be great to have you there to
comment on your experience.
Thanks!
Lynn

1) FIRST TUESDAYS - BENEFITS OF COLLABORATION AND COOPERATION
What happens when librarians and discipline faculty work together to
teach information literacy skills to students? Find out at the next
First Tuesdays program, when Lynn Kanne, project coordinator for Library
as Instructional Leader, a multi-year research project involving over 40
faculty and about 2,000 students, discusses the following assumptions
that guided the project design:
* Information literacy is an accepted learning outcome;
* The library can make a contribution to achieving information
literacy;
* Achievement of information literacy needs to start in
developmental education (pre-college) programs;
* Collaborative efforts in which librarians and faculty in
developmental education work together are a viable way to achieve
information literacy.
This free online webinar will take place on March 5, 2013, from 9:00 -
10:00 a.m. PST. For more information about First Tuesdays, visit
www.sos.wa.gov/quicklinks/tuesdays. For instructions on joining the
presentation, visit www.sos.wa.gov/quicklinks/FirstTuesdays.
