That screenshot from Amanda is not LACES, right? That's ctcLink?
There's no option to choose Hispanic/Latino in LACES, correct? Which means, we are basically telling our students who identify as Latino/Hispanic that they need to identify as a different race.
Please tell me I'm wrong....

Hello,

Unfortunately, we have always been put in the very uncomfortable and offensive position of having to ask Hispanic students to choose white. I believe there is movement at the federal level to improve the race categories they use. WABERS and LACES must match the federal requirements.

If anyone knows of any alternatives, I would also love to know about them.

Hello Deans and Directors

How are you advising students who identify as Latino/Hispanic to answer this question on the LACES intake form when there is no option to choose Latino/Hispanic? Please see the screenshot below. My understanding is that a box in the "race category" MUST be checked in order to ensure "exceptional data quality."

I cannot imagine advising a student who identifies as Hispanic or Latino to choose any of the boxes listed under "race category."

Any ideas?
