[GuidedPathways] [SPAM] Please share widely with your students, FREE policy conference at Seattle Central on March 14

Student Success Center ssc at sbctc.edu
Tue Feb 4 12:14:31 PST 2025

Conference goal: The single-day event aims to inform, inspire, and empower undergraduates across higher education in Puget Sound, including community and technical colleges and UW systems. Policy Camp is designed for undergraduate students of color who want to learn about public policy and careers in public policy and public service.
This event in partnership with the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM) is created to introduce public policy to undergraduate students who might not otherwise be familiar with the field and is designed to show promising, underrepresented undergraduate students that have shown a proclivity towards policy and what a career in the policy world might look like.
Conference attendees: community and technical college students, UW (Seattle, Bothell, & Tacoma) students, and other higher education institutions in the Puget Sound. So far, we have over 80 RSPVs. Participants in this FREE event can expect to:

  * engage with students from across Puget Sound higher education systems who are curious & interested in public policy education and careers,
  * meet leaders who live and work in the policy field,
  * learn & explore the career possibilities gained by having a public policy and administration skill set, and
  * leave excited about public policy as an academic, personal, and professional pathway.
Conference location: Seattle Central College, a designated minority-serving institution
Conference date: Friday, March 14, 2025 (9-4pm)

I acknowledge the land I sit and occupy today is the traditional home of the Duwamish<https://www.duwamishtribe.org/>, Tulalip<https://www.tulaliptribes-nsn.gov/>, Muckleshoot<https://www.npaihb.org/member-tribes/muckleshoot-tribe/> and Suquamish<https://suquamish.nsn.us/home/about-us/> tribal nations. Without them I would not have access to this working, teaching, and learning environment. I take the opportunity to thank the original caretakers of this land who are still here.
