Greetings Colleagues,

For the last several years, the Community College Research Center (CCRC) has partnered with the WA State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and the Washington community colleges to learn about the adoption of whole-college guided pathways reforms. As part of a NSF-funded study to examine how the guided pathways model is being adopted and the effects of these reforms on one-year student outcomes, we are asking colleges to complete the Guided Pathways Scale of Adoption Survey this spring and summer.

Here is some important information about the SOA Survey:

· The SOA survey is different from the previous Scale of Adoption Assessment (SOAA), which was designed as a self-assessment and planning tool for colleges. A copy of the survey and information sheet is attached for your reference. If you would like a copy of your institution’s previously completed SOAA to help you complete the survey, please email Taylor Myers, CCRC Senior Research Assistant at tmm2186 at tc.columbia.edu<mailto:tmm2186 at tc.columbia.edu>.

· The SOA survey is not designed to and will not be used to evaluate colleges. It is a research tool to help identify how the adoption of guided pathways reforms impacts student outcomes.

· We will publish the results in a report and practitioner guide. Note that individual colleges will not be identified in the publications we produce from this research.

How long will it take to complete the survey and what is the deadline to complete it?

CCRC acknowledges and understands that this is an incredibly busy time for college leaders and staff. We appreciate your time and have designed the SOA survey to be completed within one hour.

In June, CCRC will reach out to your college to schedule a one-hour meeting to complete the survey together with their research team. These calls will take place between July 15 and August 1.

If you have questions about the survey or any of the survey questions, please reach out to Taylor Myers, CCRC Senior Research Assistant at tmm2186 at tc.columbia.edu<mailto:tmm2186 at tc.columbia.edu>.

I appreciate your time and consideration.

Best,

Monica
