Subject: DataLab Invitation and Registration

Happy Friday everyone!

The SBCTC Research team and Student Success Center are excited to invite you to participate in a Guided Pathways focused regional DataLab. This workshop builds upon the system DataLabs presented at the August cohort retreat and October student success institute. The event at Yakima Valley College (November 6th) has already been organized with just the eastside colleges, so the invitation below applies to the westside ones, which will be held November 26th at SBCTC and November 28th at Everett Community College.

Colleges are invited to bring teams who work with data in tracking student success outcomes to take a deeper dive into the state Guided Pathways dashboard as well as share ideas about enhancements to make the tool best meet individual college needs. To help with the discussion about enhancements, we encourage college teams to think about what research questions you have that are specific to your student populations that are not represented in the existing Guided Pathways dashboard. There is a place on the registration form (question 7) for us to collect this information from you ahead of time in order to tailor the session best to meet your needs. We hope you can join us!

*         Learning outcomes:
1. Explore data and discuss individual college research questions in the state Guided Pathways dashboard
2. Learn how to use leading indicator metrics to assess the early implementation stages of GP
3. Collaborate and share ideas about enhancements and improvements to the GP dashboard to best meet individual college needs
4. Discuss additional needs for technical assistance from the SBCTC research team to help with GP implementation

* We are asking that college teams be coordinated through you, the Research & Planning Commission representatives or your delegate. Recommended Team Composition of 3-5:

o   College Researcher

o Faculty with interest in student success data (specific research question is ideal)

o Staff with interest in student success data (specific research question is ideal)

o   Guided Pathways committee member

Lunch will be included during this event. To ensure that we have an accurate headcount, please register on our website by November 19th by visiting: https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/programs-services/student-success-center/regional-datalab-events.aspx or by going directly to the links below:
