Black Support and Solidarity Statewide Forum

Wednesday, December 2nd from 9:00 AM —12:00 PM

Hello,

The Black Support and Solidarity work team, as part of the statewide autonomous DEI in WA CTCs initiative, is excited to invite you to a fall quarter statewide forum. This work team was formed in recognition of the unique impact of George Floyd's murder and the subsequent protest movement on Black students, staff, faculty, and administrators within our WA community and technical college system.

The purpose of this forum is to provide a space for faculty, staff and administrators from across the state to come together and learn about anti-Black racism and sentiment. Led by Rashad Norris, Director of Community Engagement at Highline College, the forum will provide a space for each person to learn about what anti-Black racism and sentiment is, how it impacts our lives, and what it looks like in our system. Importantly, there will also be affinity space available to process the information we have taken in and to reflect upon the actions we can take, both individually and collectively, to combat anti-Black racism and sentiment in our institutions and system.

Register for this free event by completing this form<https://forms.gle/4GByg31r48n2bHXN9> (link) by Thursday, November 19th. Space is limited. Should we reach capacity, the Black Support and Solidarity work team will prioritize registration for Black, Indigenous and People of Color. The Black Support and Solidarity work team will send confirmation emails with Zoom information by Monday, October 5th.

We look forward to learning with you.

Best,
