Hi Michael and Kevin,

Below are my notes about the questionnaire. Thanks for putting this together. The responses should be interesting!

Marc

-----------------

I concur with Kevin’s thoughts about adding context.

Ask about which college they are representing (and maybe whether they’re the appropriate decision maker for that college.)

Should we ask about cost models? Something like “if the colleges had to assume some of the costs, would you still stick with Panopto?” or “How big an increase in Panopto costs do you think the system should be willing to accept?” (Maybe we don’t want public records on this one…)

Move the “what items should we include” question down a few, to mitigate the impression that a renewal is a foregone conclusion. Rephrase as “If we decide to renew with Panopto, what issues should we include in that negotiation?”

What specific issues with Panopto would you like to see resolved?

If a competitive procurement (RFP) is required, and Panopto doesn’t win, what features would be difficult to lose?

Are there other lecture capture/video platforms you'd like to suggest we explore?

Thanks for this context. It might help to put a little context in the survey about the end of the contract date and the potential for a new pricing model and its potential impact and how the survey results will contribute to these conversations with Panopto. The current description on the survey just seems a little vague to me; whereas, what you just shared was really helpful. Just a thought.

Thanks!

-Kevin :)

Hey Kevin,

No that is not the assumption at all. The vendor has a new pricing model for all future contracts. We are arranging for a representative to attend ETAG's January meeting to discuss with the entire group. This will help us determine how to interpret the feedback we receive from the survey.

Thanks for this. The survey looks great. Is there an assumption that costs to the colleges wouldn’t change; therefore, not needed to be in the survey? It might help to simply summarize the current/anticipated purchase model of this in the description so it is not on people’s minds when completing the survey.

Thanks, again.

The goal is to send this out to eLC members in early January, please try to have any feedback submitted to me and/Maggie before the holiday break if possible.

We will be canceling December's ETAG meeting to accommodate those observing the holiday season and taking time off to unplug.

Respectfully,
