[DEOC] Invitation to WACTC President’s Academy on 3/23

Hello, DEOC family--
I crafted message below hoping to clear up any confusion about the gathering. It is also being sent to presidents so that they are aware that the invitation to attend is extended to all DEOC members.

Dear DEOCs--
You are invited to attend a joint meeting of the Washington Association of Community and Technical Colleges (WACTC<https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/commissions-councils/wactc/>) on Thursday, March 23, from 1-3PM at South Puget Sound Community College's Lacey Campus<https://spscc.edu/about/lacey>.
WACTC is the organization of community and technical college presidents and with its commissions, it develops policy recommendations to the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and to the system.
This year's WACTC President's Academy will be focused on SB 5227<https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5227&Initiative=false&Year=2021> and SB 5194<https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5194&Initiative=false&Year=2021>, and we hope you will be able to attend in person or virtually (zoom link to follow), to share learnings and speak candidly about the ways your colleges have been able to implement the deliverables outlined in the Senate Bills and identify areas of support and collaboration needed to do so.
Julie Walter will be in touch soon about any additional information, including a draft agenda but for now, please save the date.
I also invite you to think about any learnings, pain points, areas of support needed since the legislation passed that you would be willing to share with those gathered.
We look forward to gathering together.
