Hello everyone!
Thank you Consuelo for sharing your sentiments about This matter. I echo similar sentiments.

While I understand the initial intent of this approach I find it hard to operationalize in a way that is sustainable and positions us as collaborative partners with other groups.

I do feel strongly That we need to Seize all opportunities to have a seat at the table in whichever number we are able to.

I'm not sure how others feel, but I feel unresolved about the need to always have two people. I'm not sure our commission has enough active volunteers to make that happen all the time. As we all must make choices on how to prioritize and manage our time, this should be a consideration. I'm not married to one philosophy over another on this matter.

Good Morning All,

In reference to DEO representation; back in October there was a State Wide CTC Webinar presentation on Supporting American Indian Indigenous Studies and during that webinar there was an ask/call for persons across the State to be on this Committee and if I recall correctly, they asked for a cross section Advisors of which I responded to the call and was eventually selected last month. I did not follow this process to ask that two DEO’s be represented on this newly formed Advisory Board.

How would the committee suggest that I remedy this? Since our Sister Ha is also on the Advisory Board will that suffice for two representatives from this group? I can ask for wider representation and report back.

Humbly,

Hello all,

As a commission, we had decided that the best way to advocate for our involvement in committees while ensuring that the request for representation aligns with the groups work and mission, we would ask folks to fill out this request form<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2F1Eixm1be27ZU7UdV8&data=04%7C01%7Cconsuelo.grier%40bellevuecollege.edu%7C0c03cbf9ac8f4c022a6708d9fdfc2f7a%7Cf94c251c1347422eb3ea8ac56befd6cb%7C0%7C0%7C637820081850998448%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=l4YjIFD6fRAD7%2BQo0kFqfUdD5vIF64xUoH9WVzKp64k%3D&reserved=0>. Additionally, in dismantling normative culture norms and practices for work capacity, a practice that the commission has implemented is to assign two members to each request to ensure continuity in our work and to engage in the passing of knowledge in community.

Ha, would you mind completing the request form<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2F1Eixm1be27ZU7UdV8&data=04%7C01%7Cconsuelo.grier%40bellevuecollege.edu%7C0c03cbf9ac8f4c022a6708d9fdfc2f7a%7Cf94c251c1347422eb3ea8ac56befd6cb%7C0%7C0%7C637820081850998448%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=l4YjIFD6fRAD7%2BQo0kFqfUdD5vIF64xUoH9WVzKp64k%3D&reserved=0> for this representation request?

Thanks,

Margarita
