The Maintain FA Term page on the Withdrawal Info tab contains withdrawal info to include the Last Day of Attendance (LDA), and how the withdraw was processed.

CS Enrollment staff runs the Term Withdrawal process which is linked to the LDA being reported to National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS).  This step is essential for accruate interest calculation on student loans.

When this process is run, these values appear on the Maintain FA Term page for your R2T4 processing needs.

Is the Withdrawal Info tab blank for you?  If yes, that could mean that your Enrollment Services Dept. may not be running the Term Withdrawal process.

Please connect with your CS Enrollment colleagues to confirm the Term Withdrawal Process is being run so that LDAs are being reported to NSC and NSLDS.

Session:  NEW! Advanced Fin Aid Training:  Processing Negative Disbursement (crnd) Files

When:  Tuesday, 12/10/2024, 9:00AM – 10:30AM

Audience:  New Financial Aid Staff (and current staff needing a refresher) who are responsible for processing PLUS loans in ctcLink

Presenters:  Kelly Forsberg, FA Functional Trainer

Objectives:

  *   Understand what crnd Negative Disbursement files are
  *   Understand why these files appear in your EdConnect queue
  *   Understand how to reduce the occurrence of these files from appearing in your EdConnect queue
  *   Understand how to review and read the Manage Pell Payment page when these files are loaded
  *
Understand how to process Negative Disbursement (crnd) files in ctcLink

Session:  RESCHEDULED! Fin Aid Training:  PLUS Loan Refresher

When:  Tuesday, 12/03/2024 01/28/2025, 9:00AM – 10:30AM

Audience:  New Financial Aid Staff (and current staff needing a refresher) who are responsible for processing PLUS loans in ctcLink

Presenters:  Kelly Forsberg, FA Functional Trainer

Objectives:

  *   Understand awarding the PLUS Loan
     *   performing a credit check
     *   brief discussion about using loan request form vs. PLUS Loan application on studentaid.gov
  *   Understand how to establish the Parent Record in ctcLink
  *   Understand how to establish a student parent relationship
  *   Understand how to link the parent record to the PLUS Loan record
  *   Understand how to work with PLUS-denied students by awarding addt'l unsub

Trainings for the remainder of the 2024 calendar year have been planned out and invites sent through the list serv.  One rolled over into January 2025.

Team Updates

FA Support Team

The FA Support team is working through Aid Year Rollover (AYRO) part 2 with the colleges.
  *
The next PCD data refresh will be Monday December 9.

Training Team

  *
Updates to Canvas Training courses and QRGs are ongoing and will be worked up to include screen updates from the 24/25 FAFSA Simplification.  Announcements will be made in Canvas when as the courses are completed.  This work is expected through December/early January.
  *
Updates to Business Processing Guides will be made as time and resources allows.
  *
Trainings are being planned out for 2025.  As Aid Year Rollover (AYRO) progresses through February/March, trainings will be held only 1x a month during the AYRO process.  Once AYRO is completed for all colleges, new trainings will be announced in March.  Trainings for 2025 will be offered twice a month, on Tuesdays at 9AM.

Mittens are a great gift for those without warmth nearby, and you can bet your sweet cranberries that I am wearing my fingerless gloves as I type this!

So, get creative and knit or grab a few extra pairs and distribute to locations who support our community's cold hands during the frosty season.
