I wanted to take a moment and ensure you all are in the loop about Workforce Deans' Academy<http://www.careersined.org/training_events/ltwd.shtm>!  :)

This is a truly amazing professional development opportunity, and we are lucky to have the fabulous Jamie Wells, director of the Center of Excellence for Careers in Education<http://www.careersined.org/> at Green River, to facilitate such a fantastic program.

Good afternoon!

I am pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 cohort of the Workforce Deans' Academy.  This yearlong opportunity is sponsored by the Center of Excellence for Careers in Education and Workforce Education Council, and focuses on both leadership and the practical skills necessary to lead in the complex world of workforce and professional/technical education.  The Academy meets regularly both in-person and online and begins with a required two-day summer retreat at the Cedarbrook Lodge, August 14-15, 2017.

Application packages are due by Friday, June 30, 2017.  This will be a competitive application process as we are anticipating a higher number of applications than the 18 spaces available.  We will give top priority to brand new workforce deans or directors.  We will then look at the quality and completion of the application package and a commitment to attend all training dates.  If it becomes necessary, we may ask colleges to prioritize applications if we are still over capacity. (For those wishing to send more than one individual).
