Good morning,

State Project Improvement (SPI) grants are now open for application!
The SPI program offers financial support to state agencies, including public higher education institutions, and there is $4,850,000 available for the 2023-25 biennium.
These grants support state agencies' ability to integrate further conservation and energy efficiency measures into budgeted and approved capital projects. Projects that are under contract and/or that have construction underway are also eligible for funding.
Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis while funding remains, and Tier 1 Buildings will be prioritized (buildings over 50,000 sq. ft. and required to comply with Washington's Clean Buildings Performance Standard).
Applications must include:

  *   For Tier 1 buildings: Completed Clean Buildings Form F<https://deptofcommerce.box.com/s/5f3zgun3ztlu0kjc4vhfrq2qpir6046s> comparing the baseline project and the more efficient alternative project
  *   For other buildings: Completed Life Cycle Cost Tool<https://ofm.wa.gov/sites/default/files/public/budget/forms/2025-27/LifeCycleCostTool2024.xlsb> comparing the baseline project and the more efficient alternative project
  *   Description of baseline project, alternative project and budget

Tentative Schedule:

  *   May 23, 2024 - RFA and application release - accepted on a rolling basis
  *   May 27, 2024 - Pre-Application conference; Q&A period begins
  *   Early June - Tier 1 applications reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis while funding is available
  *   June 20, 2024 - Review of Tier 2 buildings begins, as long as funding is available
  *   Second half of June - Award notifications as approved
