[BLC] FW: Will Durden Appointed Director of Transfer Education and Transitional Studies

Dear Colleagues,



I am pleased to announce that Will Durden will officially assume the role of Director of Transfer Education and Transitional Studies as of July 1, 2025.

Will has been with the agency since 2014 in Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) and has served as the Interim Director of Transfer Education following Val Sundby's transition to a new position at Tacoma Community College. By bringing the Transfer Education and Transitional Studies departments under a single director, we aim to strengthen and streamline leadership and support for pathways - from transition to transfer.



Having had the opportunity to work with Will at SBCTC and now in my current role, I have seen firsthand his seamless transition into leading Transfer Education over the past six months. Will brings a wealth of experience, strong leadership, deep policy knowledge, and excellent facilitation skills to this expanded role.Troy Goracke will continue to serve as a key point of contact within BEdA and will support Will as he leads both areas.
