Subject: Computer Science Convening - April 14

Hello, all,

I am reaching out to you as attendees (or invitees) of the Computer Science Summit to share about our next computer science industry and faculty convening. We had wonderful participation at our event at North Seattle in January and we are excited to continue the learning on the eastside in April.

The eastside event is scheduled for Friday, 4/14 from 9am-3pm at Columbia Basin College.

This event will include refreshments and lunch. The forum will focus in some detail on the prevailing industry needs for computer science graduates. The input we receive from industry will be shared broadly within our system to help inform curriculum and program content. It will also help us to identify the themes that could serve as the basis for common curriculum that could be developed and made available for use by all colleges.

We would welcome faculty and staff from your institutions to join us for the day. Faculty will have the opportunity to hear the industry perspective directly and to ask question to help delve deeper and make sure that we are asking (and getting answers to!) the right questions.

If you would like to send a representative from your college please RSVP to Roma Bert (rbert at sbctc.edu<mailto:rbert at sbctc.edu>). In your RSVP please include the name and contact information for your primary representative as well as any additional representatives you would like to attend. To aid in planning and assure we can accommodate as many attendees as possible, please RSVP no later than Friday, March 31.

For those that are coming from a distance where commuting to the event for a day presents a challenge, please RSVP as soon as possible and let us know that in your response. We have some funds available to support hotel expenses if needed.

Thank you for your efforts on this project to date. Please reach out with any questions.

Best,
Val
