We are pleased to provide you with the 2020 College in the High School (CiHS) Standards Review Report and Process required of all public institutions of higher education offering a College in the High School program in Washington for recommended approval. If you are not currently offering or plan to offer College in the High School courses please disregard this message below.

The program staff who completes/coordinates completion of the application at each institution offering College in the High School must provide the required content and documentation for the previous academic year (fall 2019-spring 2020) no later than July 1, 2020.  Please share this email and information with the appropriate colleagues at your institution.

Please note that the review process will address the 2017 National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) standards - http://www.nacep.org/docs/accreditation/NACEP_Standards_2017.pdf.

If institutions are approved by the review committee, they will not have to submit an application again until the 2022 cycle.

Attached is information regarding the report, requirements for preparing the report, required content and documentation, the review process, and contact information. In addition, attached are best practices and suggestions to help you with the process. For submittal purposes, colleges should download all of the NACEP forms at: http://www.nacep.org/accreditation/accreditation-resources-and-application-forms/

For submitting, we utilize Box, a secure content management and file sharing service. Instructions on how to upload the report to Box for review are attached. In Box, there will also be a sample submittal for each two- and four-year sector as a reference.

A reminder that RCW 28B.10.035<https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=28B.10.035> requires any college or university offering concurrent enrollment program courses at a public high school, or college in the high school programs under RCW 28A.600.290<http://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=28A.600.290>, must receive accreditation by a national accrediting body for concurrent enrollment by the 2027-28 school year.
