[BLC] Shanon Reedy Dean’s Academy Project/BAS Program Management

Hi all.  As discussed in our last BLC meeting, below is some information regarding my Dean’s Academy project.  Please make sure that the survey is completed by a person who can answer detailed questions about each BAS program.  One survey per bachelor degree program should be completed.



As the applied baccalaureate programs grow in number across our state it is time to review the management structure.  This survey will gather information about the management of these programs and determine if there are best practices, things that work well to best support students and faculty and things that might need adjustment.



There are many different models at the colleges who offer these programs.  With that being said, I ask that the person who fills out the survey is in a position to be able to answer the questions with specificity.  One survey per bachelor degree program should be completed.  At some college’s this may be completed by one person and at other colleges it may be completed by different people.  For example, at Bellevue College we have 12 bachelor’s degree programs managed by 8 program managers.  Each PM will fill out one survey for each of the program(s) they manage. Other colleges may send the survey to the division deans or assistant deans to complete.

I also know that by revealing your college and program the survey is not anonymous.  However, the data will be aggregated and reported only in a summary form.



At the end of the survey, I ask if an applied baccalaureate representative at your college will be available for an interview.  I hope to gather more detailed information through conducting some one on one conversations.  Once I have collected and processed the data it will be available for all the BLC members.
