I am emailing to let you know that the Washington State Department of Transportation, Office of Equal Opportunity’s On the Job Training Support Services has a generous  amount of scholarship funds available to students receiving education and training related to careers in Highway Construction.
WSDOT's On-the-Job Training Support Services Program (OJT/SS) provides pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship scholarship opportunities, to increase the participation of women, minorities, and other disadvantaged individuals in the federal-aid highway construction workforce.

  *   Carpenters
  *   Electricians
  *   Cement Masons
  *   Painters
  *   Truck Drivers
  *   Iron Workers
  *   Heavy Equipment Operators or mechanics
  *   Pile Drivers
  *   Laborers
  *   Other trades related to highway construction
These funds may be used for tuition, books and supplies, and are distributed to the training provider for the student’s education and training.
Scholarship awards not to exceed $4000.
