[BFET] BFET Funding Survey - November 2017

Mat,
This funding survey makes absolutely no sense! We won't even request any funds on this year's grant until the end of January, so how are we supposed to know if we are on track to spend out? Plus, the bulk of Fall's reimbursement was requested on last year's grant so this first request will be modest.
We won't really have a good feel for if we are on track to spend out until after the Winter reimbursement. At this point all we can reasonably do is say we will spend out, but we don't have any idea yet if we may need additional funds, or may need to return funds. To me it will be meaningless information.

Good Afternoon,

In collaboration with the SBCTC Fiscal Team, the following processes for our BFET Funding Surveys has been developed. This is will be a slight change from what you are used to, but it is in line with the rest of the Ed Division grants and keeps things on a smooth cycle while streamlining some of the behind the scenes processes that we have to do.


  *   SBCTC Grants page online will be updated with the FY survey release and deadline dates.
  *   This will be the last survey I send out. April Messenger will be sending out the BFET Surveys from now on. The survey questions were developed in collaboration with both BFET and Fiscal staff.
  *   You will have 10 business days to complete the surveys.
  *   April Messenger will follow up with those who have not filled out the survey, she will also compile all the responses and prepare them for my review. I will follow up as necessary.
  *   We will still be looking at where you are in your billing, invoicing, and expenditures when determining the validity of your requests.

With regards to revising your budgets in OBIS, the process will still be the same for you following approvals.

Please note that SBCTC staff are not available for assistance after 4:00 pm, so getting it done sooner rather than later is best. Remember the more information you give us in your funding responses the faster we can process.
