I have attached the new BFET grant award reallocations that resulted from the most recent funding survey and a handful of budget revision requests. SBCTC will adjust grant amounts in OBIS in the next day or so. Once your grant amount is adjusted in OBIS, your college will receive an automated award increase/decrease notification from OBIS. After you receive the automated email, you will need to go into OBIS to create and submit a budget revision request so that your budget reflects the new grant amount. Please submit your budget revision request no later than Friday, August 19, 2016. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about these grant changes. For example, our fall quarter starts September 26, so I could start opening components the first day of the prior month, being August 1st. Here is the language from the October 2015 handbook: You may open components with future start dates (except JS) up to one calendar month in advance. Day one of the component time limits begin on the [future] start date. For example, open a September component as early as August 1st. When opening future components you must recheck eligibility before providing services as client's eligibility can terminate without notice. I hope this helps! Katie Viola, M. From: Jan Yoshiwara Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2016 12:09 PM Subject: 2015-16 Enrollment and Allocation Monitoring Reports This email will be sent broadly to the college system. State Board members, chancellors and presidents. Attached is the annual system level enrollment summary for 2015-16. It includes the following highlights: * Total enrollments for the system from all fund sources declined 1% from 2014-15, primarily due to a 2% decline in state funded FTES. * Changes varied by mission area with precollege courses showing the largest decline (-7%), fewer workforce enrollments (-3%) and more basic skills enrollments (+3%). Academic enrollments remained flat with declines in state supported academic FTES offset by increases in contract funded academic FTES due to growth in Running Start. * Enrollments in certain programs continued to grow: o applied baccalaureate programs increased 57% to 1,627 FTES o apprenticeships increased 18% to 3,292 FTES o I-BEST grew 14% to 2,493 FTES o eLearning grew 5% to 47,443 FTES o Running Start grew 12% to 18,335 FTES * Worker Retraining grew for the first time since the recession, up 7% to 7,206 FTES. * Enrollments declined for international students, WorkFirst and corrections education. College level enrollment summaries by fund source and program are available on the SBCTC website at the link below. We are providing the same reports we have traditionally sent you, online rather than sending you spreadsheets. These data are more up to date and easier to access. Below is the link to our website where people can find this document and the excel workbooks that have the enrollment summaries and allocation summaries by college. The annual enrollment summary reports (PDF documents) are available to anyone visiting the webpage, and the enrollment and allocation reports (Excel documents) are only accessible for those with a system IP address. The latter set of links are notated "college access only" to indicate this. I would encourage folks to bookmark the link as this is where we will keep adding the workbooks with each quarterly update. Call for FFY17 BFET 100% Carry-Over Funds Due 9/7/16 Message-ID: Good Morning, This is a call for requests for BFET 100% carry-over funds. If you anticipate needing 100% funds for FFY 2017, please let me know by COB on Wednesday, September 7th. DSHS is anticipating that the funds will be available prior to the start of Spring quarter. There will be no initial 100% funding awarded for FFY 2017. I will need to know how much you are requesting for each of the following categories: tuition and administrative services, including indirect. By way of reminder, none of the carry-over funds can be used to cover expenses prior to their release. You will not need to revise your BFET budget, at this time, as that will be done once the funds are awarded. Please remember to request only what you think you will spend. Please complete this survey no later than September 7th: FFY17 BFET 100% Fund Allocation survey. DSHS will be sending the request to FNS the week of September 12th and requests received by SBCTC after the September 7th deadline will not be considered, so please send in your numbers as soon as you have them. Regarding the ability to receive reimbursement for indirect costs: DSHS has agreed to allow these expenses to be covered through your BFET 50/50 funds, as well. This will allow you to recoup some of your indirect costs prior to the release of the 100% carry-over funds. We will let you know how to handle this in your budgets once the FFY17 BFET contract and funding levels are finalized. Thank you. From: BFET [mailto:bfet-bounces at lists.ctc.edu] On Behalf Of Mat Carlisle Sent: Thursday, August 25, 2016 1:08 PM To: 'bfet at lists.ctc.edu' Subject: [BFET] IMPORTANT!! Call for FFY17 BFET 100% Carry-Over Funds Due 9/7/16 Importance: High Good Morning, This is a call for requests for BFET 100% carry-over funds. Thank you.
