Subject: DSHS COVID 19 - BFET Program

Good evening,

I want to thank you for the precautions taken amidst this COVID-19 pandemic.  We recognize that this will affect the operations of the BFET program and we appreciate your patience as we work through policies and procedures.  Attached please find the agency communication to partners and an overview of what we have done as a state agency to ensure the health and safety of staff and participants.  See below for additional program highlights.

  *   The BFET program will continue to reimburse for services provided.  If an agency choses to provide telework opportunities for staff.  If agencies chose to implement telework options, ensure program including security requirements are met (attached, see page 11, section 6b), as outlined in the BFET contract.

  *   Signatures are needed for the program.  The following are alternative methods in which you can collect signatures if the participant is not in person to sign the form:

     *   PDF electronic signature
     *   Picture of the signed form (emailed)
     *   Mailed signed form (obviously delays the process but an option)

  *   Monitoring visits for March have been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.  We are currently working on a plan to address monitoring visits scheduled in April.

  *   Contractual and handbook requirements have not changed.
