Aerospace -- Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing

About Aerospace
English (USA)

A new statewide aerospace listserv is being established to strengthen communication and collaboration among faculty, staff, and administrators engaged in aerospace and advanced manufacturing programs across Washington’s Community and Technical Colleges. This listserv will serve as a shared space for programs to exchange timely information on grant opportunities, industry recommendations, curriculum updates, equipment and facility challenges, promising practices, and other developments that shape aerospace education and workforce preparation. By creating a simple, central channel for communication, colleges can more easily stay aligned with sector trends and leverage collective expertise to better support students and employers.
In addition, the listserv will help create a more consistent communication loop between the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC), the Aerospace and Advanced Materials Manufacturing Pipeline Advisory Committee, and the college programs that contribute to Washington’s aerospace workforce pipeline. Established in statute in 2012, the Pipeline Advisory Committee is charged with studying and addressing the skills gap in aerospace workforce production. Its responsibilities include providing current information on training programs, sharing grant and partnership opportunities, coordinating faculty professional development, and evaluating program outcomes such as completion and job placement rates. The new listserv will support these responsibilities by ensuring information flows efficiently between the committee and college programs, fostering statewide coordination that strengthens both program quality and workforce readiness.
