<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Dear Colleagues/Friends,<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> I am writing this message to let you know that my tenure as Vice
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> President for Student Services a Peninsula College has ended. Although
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> I am sad to leave the best institution I have ever served at, I look
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> back over the last 19 years with such fond memories of helping
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> students achieve success. I worked with a leadership team and staff in
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> Student Services that lived our Guiding Principles on an unwaveringly
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> consistent basis. I am most proud of that and of them. Many have asked
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> me over the years what makes PC such a great and unique place, and I
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> always pointed to our Guiding Principles. As I was discussing with a
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> member from my leadership team recently that, at the end of the day,
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> it is all about relationships.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> And that brings me to you, WSSSC leaders on your respective campuses
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> and within our system. Thank you for your support, encouragement,
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> collaborative teamwork, and all the kicks-and-giggles we have shared
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> over the years. Although we have so many new members that I have not
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> had the chance to get to know well, each of you are beginning or
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> continuing a tradition that makes our system shine across the nation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> My immediate plans are to continue helping my sisters care for my
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> elderly father in Whatcom County. I hope to remain in the SBCTC system
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> in some capacity. I am far from ready to ride off into the sunset. I
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> remain passionate about our equity, inclusion, and belonging work
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> built on the Guided Pathways framework. I genuinely believe that the
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> redesign work we have embarked upon with Guided Pathways is going to
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> be the difference-maker in closing equity gaps for our BIPOC and other
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> marginalized student populations. Keep up the good work and maybe I
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">> will see you on a campus near you soon!<o:p></o:p></span></p>
