<p class="xxmsonormal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Governor Inslee’s Supplemental Operating Budget is very good for the Community and Technical College System. The level of investment and the number of new initiatives is comparable
to what is usually seen in a biennial budget. Next year’s appropriation to the system would increase by nearly $80 million (8%). Every budget request from SBCTC is fully funded, along with three additional policy investments. The 3.25% salary increase provided
to represented classified employees next year is extended to non-represented and exempt employees as well. Faculty and technical college employees subject to I-732 will receive a 4.67% COLA next year (in line with increases in Seattle CPI). See more about
these highlights below and additional detail in the attached budget comparison.

between K12, higher education and community partners to increase postsecondary enrollment. Our colleges will have the opportunity to apply for these grants available on a competitive basis to “regional partnerships of higher education institutions, state registered
apprenticeships, local school districts, community-based organizations, cities and counties, and other local entities that are invested in increasing job opportunities for individuals in their region and ensuring a well-prepared regional workforce.”</span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
