<p class="MsoNormal">As you know, the college system received generous funding from College Spark Washington, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Kresge Foundation to support implementation of guided pathways in our system. The Guided Pathways Institute
on <b>April 25, 2017</b> is focused on student on-boarding and advising strategies, and will be held at
<b>Clover Park Technical College</b> from 8:00 am–5:00 pm.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We are pleased to be joined by nationally-recognized experts at this event. The agenda includes an opening session “<b>Major Decisions: Rethinking Advising, On-Boarding and Scheduling to Support Students on a Path to Learning and Success,”</b>
with Davis Jenkins, Community College Research Center, Columbia University; Kathleen Cleary, Associate Provost for Student Completion at Sinclair Community College in Ohio; Tristan Denley, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the Tennessee Board of Regents;
and Latitia D. McCane, Dean of Instructional Services, Bishop State Community College in Alabama. Linda Garcia with the Center for Community College Student Engagement at UT Austin, will be presenting on how to utilize CCSSE data to inform planning and implementation
of supports for underrepresented students. There will be breakout sessions focused on infusing career exploration into college metamajors/pathways for all students (including those who begin in adult basic education or developmental education), student on-boarding
and advising strategies, student success strategies for gateway courses, scheduling courses for student success and completion, and mining student engagement data to inform redesign efforts. The agenda includes dedicated time for your team to reflect on what
they are learning at the institute and to identify next steps for your college.<b><o:p></o:p></b></p>
