[Wsssc] Please read: Seeking Treasurer for WSSSC

Hello WSSSCr’s. I hope everyone is getting a chance for some vacation and time away this summer to recharge.

Our commission still needs to round out our officers for 2023-2024 by filling the Treasurer role. Information on what that entails is below. Rob is our out-going Treasurer, and is a great resource if you have questions about the time commitment, etc. at robert.cox at centralia.edu<mailto:robert.cox at centralia.edu>

For this position, we ask the person serve for 2 years to maintain continuity. Our WSSSC constitution<https://www.sbctc.edu/resources/documents/colleges-staff/commissions-councils/wsssc/wsssc_constitution.docx> outlines the general responsibilities of the treasurer, copied below. Part C should specify coordination as those items relate to necessitating payment, etc. This officer role is not responsible for coordinating all those components in the broader scope of meeting planning.


     *   Treasurer
        *   Shall establish and maintain financial records and report at regular meetings.
        *   Shall provide for the payment of all authorized Commission expenses.
        *   Shall coordinate the arrangements necessary for each regular meeting of the Commission (lodging, meals, meeting facilities, parking, hospitality events, and meeting registration announcements and registrations for meetings).

Officers are a part of the WSSSC Exec team. Exec meets 1x monthly for an hour. It’s a highly collaborative and supportive group of peers – you’ll be joining a great team. Please reach out to myself, Rob, and/or Claire to let us know of your interest. We are seeking to affirm the ’23-‘24 officers by getting the slate to you all for a vote asap. I expect to get several OOO messages. If you’re out of the office and don’t see this for a week or two, and you’re interested, please still reach out unless you see we’ve put the slate out to the commission to vote on.
