Subject: Introducing College & Career Compass!

Colleagues,

[cid:image004.jpg at 01D5EE13.EFD32840]<https://compass.wsac.wa.gov/>Washington's new College & Career Compass is soft-launching student outreach Tuesday, March 3! This online tool is designed to help adults return to school and finish their education.

You can find the interactive and mobile-friendly tool at https://compass.wsac.wa.gov. Visitors to Compass can search for educational programs and pathways, navigate content tailored to support adult learners, and connect with campuses committed to supporting their progress.

Washington Colleges Stand Ready to Support Adults
Almost one million working-aged adults in our state have not finished the courses needed to earn a credential.

Compass will help them navigate educational pathways and get back on the path to completion. In partnership with two- and four-year campuses across the state, WSAC maintains the Compass tool.

Participating campuses: Forty-five campuses have provided their educational programs to promote pathways to adult learners.
Compass campuses: Of these 45, a growing list of campuses (currently 35) have agreed to evaluate adult learner practices and provide tailored support to inquiring students connected through the Compass tool. These campuses understand that Compass will be an integral tool to increase our state's educational attainment. See below for the list!

Statewide Outreach Targets Former Students
WSAC's initial outreach includes a Compass email campaign to nearly 15,000 former students.

* Two-thirds of these students had significant momentum before their education plans stalled.

* One-third did not complete their first year of college.
The email messages are encouraging and inspirational, intended to steer adult learners to the Compass tool. The messages-and content in the tool-emphasize the new Washington College Grant as a powerful resource for adult learners.

We want to coordinate with your PR offices on press releases and promotion.
One week after the soft launch, WSAC would like to coordinate promotion. Please connect your PR teams or PIOs to WSAC's communications manager, who is coordinating news media engagement for Compass: Emily Persky, 360-753-7817 or emilyp at wsac.wa.gov<mailto:emilyp at wsac.wa.gov>. We will send PR teams a link to a press kit and will publish a statewide press release the week of March 9.

Thank you for your support and please let me know if you have questions.
Rachelle
