Subject: FW: Contingency planning - Update on Grants & Allocations from SBCTC

As a follow-up to the contingency planning information SBCTC sent you last week (see below), here is an update on various grants and allocations.

Federal Funds:

* Perkins - Grants were released to colleges last week in OBIS with a start date of July 1, 2017.

* BFET and RISE - Current grants, which run on an October 1, 2016 - September 30, 2017 timeline, had no issues since a budget was passed on June 30, 2017.

* WorkFirst - Grants have not yet been released to colleges but will be released with an effective date of July 1, 2017 as soon as SBCTC has an interagency agreement (contract) in place from DSHS. Many interagency agreements have been delayed due to the budget not passing until June 30, 2017.

State Funds:

* Allocations including, but not limited to, Worker Retraining, Opportunity Grants, HEET, and Workforce Development should go out in the next week or two and will have an effective date of July 1, 2017. Please work closely with your college's business office for allocation information.

* Early Achiever Grants - Grants have not yet been released to colleges but will be released with an effective date of July 1, 2017 as soon as SBCTC has an interagency agreement (contract) in place from DEL. Many interagency agreements have been delayed due to the budget not passing until June 30, 2017.

* Corrections Education Grants - Grants have not yet been released to colleges but will be released with an effective date of July 1, 2017 as soon as SBCTC has an interagency agreement (contract) in place from DOC. Many interagency agreements have been delayed due to the budget not passing until June 30, 2017.

* Job Skills Grants - Grant applications are being reviewed now. Approved grants will be released with an effective date of July 1, 2017 or the project's start date, whichever is later.

Let us know if you have any questions.
