Given what you have described and the similar messaging I received related to distance counseling training, I do not provide counseling services to individuals outside the state of Washington. This has come up with students on two occasions, both who traveled
to California to be with family. While this is explicitly shared in my distance counseling protocols that students sign, I reminded them at the start of the appointment that I am unable to
<span id="ms-outlook-android-cursor"></span>provide counseling services since I am not regulated by or licensed in the State of California. The students completely understood and we planned our next meeting after their return.<br>

Recently our dean reached out to us to ask if we are providing telemental health services to our students who may be currently in states other than Washington. We let him know about the restrictions of our licenses and what was presented during our Telemental
Health training, which prevent us from providing services to students who are physically in other states. We're hoping to get additional thoughts from others to see how you all are approaching work with these students at your institution.</div>
