<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Papyrus">I am here to offer good news! Yesterday was a historic day for our profession. After a great deal of work with AFT and our legislators, the governor signed HB 1355 into law. This bill establishes
a task force to study the issue of counselor qualifications and staffing ratios. The recommendations of the task force will be used to create a new bill to advance our profession statewide. We are thrilled by this victory and it is a huge step of progress
towards achieving a legal mandate on these issues.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
