Hello,

In these uncertain times, our Counseling Services department has been discussing contingency plans if one or more of our team were to get sick and be unable to work. One of the concerns we have discussed is whether other counselors could absorb each other's caseloads or whether we may need to refer students to services in the community. We have also drafted language that would be used to share with students if the counselor is not able to continue services.

Our Division of Humanities collected contingency information from faculty regarding their preferences should they no longer be able to proceed with their courses due to illness or other causes, and this included designating someone to teach from within or outside the college.

I am curious if other college counseling centers have developed contingency plans, and what resources you are considering for students. It would be helpful to understand your approach.

Thank you, and well wishes,
Ariana
