<p class="MsoNormal">For those of you that attended this morning’s call (or those that did not), we spent most of the hour discussing what is Primo VE, and also what next steps might be for our institutions.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The consensus result of that discussion is that we want to identify a group of “early adopter” institutions within our consortium to take the lead on Primo VE adoption.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This early adopter work will consist of:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<ol style="margin-top:0in" start="1" type="1">
<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Identifying institutions that wish to participate<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">At least one staff person from each of those institutions committing to participating in a working group of your peers on this effort<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">It will be the job of the working group to meet regularly throughout their Primo VE implementation process, to set a Primo VE path for other institutions to follow. This work will
include things like:<o:p></o:p></li></ol>

<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level2 lfo1">Identifying how best to prepare your institution for the change (do you need to go through Primo VE training first, etc)<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level2 lfo1">Developing a timeline for this initial group to follow in their Primo VE implementation (and to serve as a guideline for subsequent institutions)<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level2 lfo1">Determining and executing the appropriate amount of post-implementation training or awareness required for institutional staff<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level2 lfo1">Documenting results<o:p></o:p></li></ol>

<p class="MsoNormal">Following a common model regularly used in such a scenario as this at other consortia, I would serve as the WACTCLC resource / liaison, and as a Primo SME for this group.

<p class="MsoNormal">Someone on the group itself would serve as chair, and be responsible for such items as scheduling the meetings, and setting the agenda.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">My sense, after today’s call, is that we have 5 or 6 institutions that feel ready to put in a request to Ex Libris to begin a switch to Primo VE.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">If you are one of those institutions, please respond to this thread with your institution and Primo VE lead person.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">And once we have a candidate set of institutions wanting to participate, we can take next steps. Which would include setting a meeting schedule, laying out a plan, and communicating with LLC and the WACTCLC exec committee.<o:p></o:p></p>
