<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">I have this issue too, and was told that if you want title level searchability (Alma activation) and article/entry level searchability (PCI activation) then you are going to have two records. It’s very frustrating
as some of the records that show up from PCI activations are truly horrible. <o:p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">I’m choosing to tolerate the duplicate records. If I have a student who is looking for information on fibromyalgia, I would hope that they would find information from the Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine. If I don’t
have the title activated in PCI, then it won’t show up if a patron does a topic or keyword search. I think it is important that the individual entries in reference-type works are findable.

in your other collections where PC ECPT also has a record. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">For example, I have the Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine through GVRL, but PC ECPT also has a record of this book in its collection, so I end up with two duplicate records on
my results page when I search for it in Primo. Both of the records will point to GVRL for the full text, but one of them will be from Alma and the other will be from PCI. (Screenshot attached)<o:p></o:p></span></p>

solutions: 1) tolerate the duplicate records; 2) deactivate PC ECPT in PCI. Guess which one I’m gonna do? In this instance, it’ll be easier and cleaner to create a local electronic collection for the ebrary ebook titles that I purchased.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
