Hi all,

With Elena back from her Sabbatical (yay!), we looked at this issue today.
As noted below, Elena opted out from adding the note with user profile info which we hope will stop future notes from being added.

And since there wasn't a clear way to run a job that would delete all the notes already in patron note fields, Elena contacted Alma chat who will open a ticket for T2 (salesforce) to run a job that would do just that.
We will share more when that happens.

Have a good weekend everybody.

FYI-- I got annoyed enough by this that I opened a ticket with Ex Libris (#06825591).

Ex Libris says:

The Development team have created an option to opt-out from adding the note with user profile information. This option will be in the form of a customer parameter and is currently scheduled to be included with the September 2023 release...When they become available, the September release notes should include further information on how to disable the user profile notes.

It will be ok!

It may be possible to do via API and a script-- which doesn't help those of us who don't know how to do that. (Grr)

According to the Ex Libris documentation<https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/alma/apis/docs/xsd/rest_user.xsd/?tags=PUT>, "user_notes" is one of the available fields that you can GET/PUT via API.

So theoretically possible? If you can write code.

I'm also really annoyed by the "Profile name" user notes.

Since July, the History tabs of all our user records are clogged with daily updates to "Notes" and "Roles" when the patron load runs.

My own user record has had 37 changes-that-aren't-really-changes in the past 20 days and my History tab now has 684 entries. The only way I can check on any part of the user history is to export the entire history to Excel-- which takes upwards of 6 minutes because there are so many changes recorded in the History now.

I noticed that those weird patron notes from May 5th and May 6th are still on all of our patron records. I was looking for a way to batch delete all of them and came across Kirsti's enhancement request for this<https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/32823910-allow-batch-deletion-of-user-notes> from 2018. The most recent comment indicates it's still not possible. I don't see any documentation for completing such a task so I assume it's still not possible... can anyone confirm?

Thanks!
