[wactclc-alma] Issue with access display in Primo

Cassandra,

I think you folks will need to open a case with Ex Libris about this.

Anytime you see "cdi" in the permalink, it means that the metadata record is coming from a big external database that Ex Libris controls and that we have no behind-the-scenes access to.

https://sbctc-lwtech.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01STATEWA_LWTC/1ji0f7s/cdi_pascalfrancis_primary_15509102

We can't fix problems with CDI records but Ex Libris staff can.

Anytime you see that "cdi" in the permalink, go straight to the ProQuest & Ex Libris Support Center<https://support.proquest.com/s/?language=en_US> and open a case. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Select "Ex Libris" as the "Platform/Service" and "CDI" as the "Asset"

You'll want to include permalinks and screenshots when you submit the case. (But maybe the problem has been fixed now? The permalink gives a different result than it did last week.)

Hope this helps.

It will be ok!

Subject: [wactclc-alma] Issue with access display in Primo

Hi all.

My new colleague, Emily Dunster, sent this to me, as she doesn't have access to the listserv yet:

A patron came in on Thursday night looking for the following article:

https://sbctc-lwtech.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01STATEWA_LWTC/1ji0f7s/cdi_pascalfrancis_primary_15509102

As you can see, there's only one access option listed and it's via Annual Reviews. Unfortunately, there's actually no access to the title via Annual reviews (our access begins in 2003 and this also is the date the article was published, so I think it's just one of those times Primo thinks we have access since the dates are so close).

I checked in Alma and we should have access to the article both via ProQuest and EBSCO, but they're not showing up in the discovery layer. I checked some other articles from the same journal and it looks like it's also happening with all of the other articles that were published in the same year from this title. They start displaying correctly in 2004 - here's an example: https://sbctc-lwtech.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01STATEWA_LWTC/117qsle/cdi_unpaywall_primary_10_1146_annurev_energy_29_063003_132549
