We also noticed that the SBCTC is using the EMPLID field for more than just the expected 9 digit CTC Link number, which causes all sorts of troubles with Alma uploads.

And I HATE that Alma says "successful" but no files were processed!!

One thing to be aware of...

If IT sends a blank XML file with no patron records to the Ex Libris FTP server, Alma will process the empty file and the job history will show that the patron load job ran successfully.

I mean, technically the job did run successfully. It's not Alma's fault that there were no records in the file to do anything to.

You need to confirm 2 things when you check the job history files:


  1.  Status = Completed successfully
  2.  Records Processed >0

If you see the job ran successfully, but Records Processed = 0, then you know the problem is on the IT side of things.

Hi All,
Here are the steps to check your patron load job history:

Step 1:
Admin>Monitor Jobs

Step 2:
Click on the History Tab

Step 3:
Adjust date range desired (30 days at a time is maximum limit). Type "patron" into the search bar and "enter".

You can work backwards 30 days at a time.  I noticed we have been having problems since 7/16/2022.  Our last successful student load was July 15.

We are also seeing something similar with our faculty and staff not updating correctly from ctcLink. They are currently teaching or working but ctclink is loading them as expired. I am trying to connect with our IT person in charged of ctcLink to see if they can see on their end what could be causing this.
