HI Kirsti:

Thanks. That’s basically correct. I will try that…

Elena,

Making sure I understand the issue-- So you have laptops at 2 different campuses.

At one point, you sent laptops at Campus A to Campus B where they got checked out to patrons.

The Campus A laptops that got checked out at Campus B are still at Campus B (either sitting on a shelf somewhere or still checked out to patrons?) only Alma says their location is Campus A.

You need to figure out which of the Campus A laptops are still at Campus B so they can either be sent back to Campus A or so you can change the Alma location to show where they really are, yes?

One idea that comes to mind for me-- if a Campus A laptop gets checked in at Campus B, Alma will automatically put it into transit status. If you do an advanced repository search for laptops with a "Transit" status, does anything show up?

Hi everyone:

For those of you who are interested in the discussion we had this morning about Skagit’s very weird Analytics problem, here it is:

I have created an Analytics report that shows the number of laptops and hotspots that are available in each of our campus libraries. However, when I created the report, I created it as a Physical Item Inventory report, NOT a Fulfillment report, which would have allowed me to show the library desk it was loaned from.

So, we sent some equipment from one campus to another, but this report doesn’t show that – it shows the availability in the location where the item came from. I *think* that this is because the items’ temporary location didn’t get set and the location didn’t get changed.

The question is do we need to change future practice so that we make sure the location is changed once the items go over to the other campus, OR should I have created this report as a Fulfillment report – would that still have allowed me to sort and show items by their current process status(how many on loan, available, etc.).

Hopefully we can figure this out on Thursday…

(Feel like these are word problems that should be included in Gary Larson’s“Hell’s Library” – or maybe it’s El’s Library ):
