[Wactclc-alma] [EXTERNAL*]- FOD duplicates upon import

Hi Ryer:

We had that issue and then we realized was a problem with our import profile for Films on Demand. The big issue for us was how we did matching. It also was making us do a lot of manual overrides - mostly when new episodes of a series were loaded.

Anyway, we consulted with Wade, and here's what we ended up with for the matching
section of the profile

and it seems to work fine now. We do the updates regularly so we load the additions and the deletions once a month and it seems to work well.

Good luck!

Subject: [EXTERNAL*]-[Wactclc-alma] FOD duplicates upon import

Hi everyone,

Yesterday's conversation reminded me that I was due for my Films on Demand update. We have been uploading MARC records into our own maintained electronic collection. I typically withdraw all portfolios, then import all records fresh. It has been long enough that I'm a bit hazy on our process and maybe one of you has a better process.

But I'm noticing some related issues with my import so far.
1. It didn't complete, it's been stuck at 27%, and has many that are marked as requiring manually match handling. I have looked a few matches and each one is matched to a few other records that the same item, just slightly different cataloging. I'm not sure how to best handle these, and would love to not deal with thousands of these cases.
2. Of the portfolios it did successfully import, many are duplicated. Worse yet, some have the right linking for us, with our EzProxy links, while others with a non-EzProxy link fail.
3. Of the titles that have imported, many are not represented in the Community Zone collections with portfolio lists that are likely to represent our collection (Films on Demand selective package with 47449 portfolios and Films on Demand Master Academic 93405). My package supposedly has 43951 titles for what it's worth. I know there is a frequent data delay, but I came across enough discrepancy already to raise concerns about using the CZ collection.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
